A Leading U.S. cryptocurrency trading platform Coinbase has announced the launch of a cryptocurrency index fund for accredited investors from America. The company said that it faced "overwhelming" demand from investors and launches a tool for those who want to invest from $250 thousand to $20 million.

Ripple CEO: ‘Bitcoin Owned by China’

Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple was full of insightful opinions while on stage at the 2018 Stifel Cross Sector Insight Conference, held in Boston. For Example, Garlinghouse believes that Bitcoin is owned by China. “There are four miners in China that control over 50% of Bitcoin...How do we know that China won't intervene? How many countries want to use a Chinese-controlled currency? It's just not going to happen”. Earlier in May Ripple CEO expressed his thoughts regarding Bitcoin’s influence on the cryptocurrency market. Germany: Financial Sector Safe From Crypto

Virtual currencies do not pose a threat to the world’s financial stability, according to the German federal government. Authorities added that the volume of cryptocurrency transactions is too low in comparison to the traditional financial system. However, German Officials believe there is no reason to ignore the developing industry, since it presents the world with some problems that need to be addressed internationally. And a similar message came the head of the German financial watchdog BaFin, Felix Hufeld. He went on record saying that the blockchain technology is highly disruptive and that cryptocurrencies potentially pose a threat since in the “worst case”they can be used for illegal purposes such as terrorism and laundering.

Mine Worm Infects Amazon TV

A specific type of malware tool which secretly mines cryptocurrency on user devices has been discovered infecting Amazon Fire TV’s and Fire TV Sticks. It is believed that the users are unknowingly installing the malicious content through downloading unapproved apps.

U.S. Sanction Crypto Study in Sex, Drug Industries

The U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services proposed a bill carrying out a study on how virtual currencies and online marketplaces are used in sex and drugs trafficking. If the bill passes and is signed into law, the Comptroller General of the United States will have one year to provide the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs and the Committee on Financial Services with a study and recommendations on possible regulations.

Korean Banks to Verify ID via Blockchain

The Korea Federation of Banks (KFB) plans to implement a system of checking IDs on the blockchain for commercial banks in July. The private platform was built on the basis of Nexledger and developed by Samsung SDS.

One of the most discussed topics on Reddit today was the photo posted by the user u/elsurfeslomejor007. The Image was taken at the Istanbul bazaar, on the busy Sabuncu Hani street. It shows the Bitcoin symbol hanging from a currency exchange office. “Istanbul Market? Bullmarket? Bullmarket!!” and “Evn Bitcoin is more stable than Turkish Lira” commented one reddit user, joking about the performance of the New Turkish Lira in the international currency exchange market. The Turkish Lira has lost almost %25 of its value compared to USD during the last six months.
