GMO to Release World’s First 7nm Bitcoin Miner

Japan-based IT company GMO Internet Group is set to launch the B2 miner, which incorporates the world’s first 7nm semiconductor chip, this summer, the company announced yesterday. The new miner’s price and performance details will be shared during an “information session” on June 6. Mass production and shipping will begin in October 2018. Producing 7nm mining chips has been GMO’s main focus since the company entered the mining industry last year.

Coinbase Acquires Crypto Trading Platform Paradex

Coinbase, a major cryptocurrency exchange, announced its acquisition of Paradex, a crypto trading platform, yesterday. Following the move, Coinbase plans to provide its services first to international customers, followed by U.S. customers pending compliance procedures. The acquisition will significantly expand the variety of cryptocurrencies available through Coinbase. The company currently offers trading in four of the largest coins: bitcoin, ether, litecoin (LTC/USD) and bitcoin cash.

American Express Integrates Blockchain Into its Loyalty Program

The world's second largest credit card issuer, American Express, announced the integration of the Hyperledger blockchain into its rewards program, the Associated Press reported yesterday. The system will allow suppliers to develop individual offers for AmEx cardholders, significantly improving ad targeting accuracy. During its initial trial with Boxed, an online retailer, users will be able to earn five times the normal number of points on certain products.

Ripple Donates $4 million to Ellen’s Wildlife Fund

American actor and venture capitalist Ashton Kutcher shocked Ellen talk show yesterday with a major announcement - a $4 million donation to the Ellen Degeneres Wildlife Fund from Ripple (XRP/USD) . Kutcher made the donation on behalf of the company live on-air using an XRP payment app, demonstrating the platform’s ability to facilitate instant cross-border transactions.

IBM To Create 1800 Jobs For French Tech Specialists

Technology giant IBM (NYSE: IBM) has announced that the company plans to employ 1800 specialists from France within the next couple of years. The new employees will form a research group, which, according to IBM CEO Ginny Rometti, will focus at “AI, blockchain, and the Internet of Things”.The decision appears to be part of the company’s vision of making “France a center of excellence dedicated to artificial intelligence".

Monero Specialists Developed New Protocol Tari

Tari protocol is a new development of Monero (XMR/USD) specialists. The platform allows “anyone to program complex rules for digital assets and trust that they will be enforced”. According to the developers, Tari will focus on tokens that contain information about ownership rights such as loyalty points or virtual goods
