Amazon Cloud to Move Into Blockchain

Amazon Web Services, the tech giant’s cloud computing arm, signed an agreement with Kaleido, a recentlylaunched start-up to begin work on a blockchain-based cloud service, CNBC reported on Tuesday. Kaleido aims to give Amazon’s customers an "easy button" to access into the same technology that underpins Bitcoin (TIKER: BTC.EXANTE).

Circle Will Launch U.S. Dollar-Backed Cryptocurrency

The company has raised $110 million for the new project in Series E funding led by the cryptocurrency mining behemoth Bitmain, and its capitalization came close to $ 3 billion. Against this background, Circle plans to launch a new cryptocurrency pegged to the value ofthe U.S. dollar and additionally backed by the reserves of the fiat currency. The cryptocurrency, named USDC or USD Coin, will be an ERC20 token built on top of the Ethereum blockchain.

CME Group Is Gauging Client Interest For Ethereum Futures

The Chicago-based derivatives exchange reported that it would study the interest of its customers in this tool. “We’ll continue to gauge with them to ascertain the demand for futures,” Tim McCourt, CME’s head of equity products, said. “There are no plans at the exchange to launch one currently.”

Telegram Sued the American Startup

Telegram Messenger Inc., the Pavel Durov-led firm, filed a lawsuit against Florida's Lantah LLC with a request to prohibit the use of the Gram brand, under which Telegram plans to issue its own cryptocurrency. The lawsuit notes that Lantah filed an application for the registration of the Gram brand in February 2018, but Telegram has been actively using the same brand since 2017. It was mentioned inthe description of the services offered to clients, including describing the blockchain platform Telegram Open Network (TON), and therefore has priority.
