Bitcoin price surges above $8,000. The price of Bitcoin (TIKER: BTC.EXANTE) surged above $8,000 on Frinday. The largest and most popular cryptocurrency has gained 5.24% over the past 24 hour hours and is currently trading at roughly $8,077. The rise has quickly spread to other cryptocurrencies, as well.
Yahoo Japan to buy 40% stake in crypto exchange. Yahoo Japan Corp said on Friday it would buy a minority stake in a Tokyo-based cryptocurrency exchange. The corporation will buy a 40 per cent stake in BitARG Exchange Tokyo and plans to launch services in autumn. The sum of the deal has not been disclosed, a person familiar with the matter says it would likely total 2 billion to 3 billion yen ($18.5 million to $27.8 million).

Draper made the remark, speaking to a crowd of tech enthusiasts outside Draper University, Tim Draper, founder and managing partner of Draper Associates and Draper University.
Tom Lee maintains 25,000 year-end forecast for Bitcoin. Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee believes Bitcoin could more than triple this year. The overnight surge in prices has further reinforced his optimism. Even after the recent surge in prices the largest cryptocurrency is still trading 61 percent below the December heights. Lee says it’s past time Bitcoin recouped those losses.
