CryptoKitties raises $12 Million in Funding. CryptoKitties, one of the first successful blockchain-based virtual game, has raised $12 million from investors. The investment is led by Andreessen Horowitz and Union Square Ventures, two of the world’s top venture capital firms who have also backed companies like Facebook (NASDAQ: FB), Twitter (NYSE: TWTR), and Coinbase, the project said.

Snowden says NSA has been tracking Bitcoin users. The U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) has been reportedly monitoring the Bitcoin blockchain with an eye on identifying users on the distributed network, according to classified documents provided by whistleblower Edward Snowden. The documents indicate that “tracking down” Bitcoin users went well beyond closely examining Bitcoin’s public transaction ledger - the blockchain, where users are typically referred to through anonymous identifiers; the tracking may also have involved gathering intimate details of these users’ computers.

G20 agrees to monitor cryptocurrencies but no action yet. Finance ministers and central bankers from the world's top 20 largest economies meeting in Buenos Aires agreed to keep a watchful eye on cryptocurrencies on Tuesday and opened the door to regulating the booming industry at a later stage, Reuters reported. The policymakers asked regulators to monitor these “crypto assets” but stopped to stop short of any specific action.

Bitcoin will become the world’s single currency. Jack Dorsey, chief executive of both Twitter and the payments company Square, believes Bitcoin (Bitcoin) will become the single global currency of the internet within a decade and will overtake the dollar in importance. Dorsey is a Bitcoin investor himself and revealed last week that he is one of the seed investors of Lightning Labs, a Bay Area startup working towards potentially making Bitcoin cheaper and faster to use.
